Growing out my Natural Nails (again!). . . . .

Hey girl heyyyy!  So I've never really had long nails prior to this year. I've always preferred a square shape because it looked "clean and professional" to me. They never really grew too far past my fingertips. The length issue was mostly due to them peeling, thus thinning and increasing the likelihood of splits. In the lucky event they weren't peeling, I swear, just AS SOON as they reached a nice tip length they would break on the  f reaking corners. Well, that all changed when I revamped my nail routine. There are TWO FACTORS that really changed the game for me.  1. Using OPI "The Original Nail Envy" as directed on bottle. Apply as a base coat or one coat daily for 1 week. This stuff is sort of expensive, around $18 bucks. I usually purchase from Ulta though, they always have a $3.50 off coupon you can find online.  2. Filing my tips round or almond. Since my nails are quite hard since using Nail Envy, I can use a course nail fi

Check out this quick vid showcasing a throwback (circa Fall 2015) protective style. Flat-twists in front, single twists in back all pinned back into a sort of french roll. Used Beautiful Textures moisture butter to twist my hair after a fresh wash and hot oil treatment. Leave in used was Shea Moisture yucca & baobab growth milk. -Kee 12.16.2017

Getting it together. . .

Being an avid reader and a part of many book groups, lately I've been seeing folks posting about their 2017 Reading Challenge. This prompted me to check out my own stats for the past year. I know I haven't been very consistent (like AT ALL) with reviewing on Amazon, so I wanted to contribute to those authors I've read this past year in some way, so I moseyed on over to my Goodreads account to submit reviews via their 5-star system. My amazon unlimited account is synced up with Goodreads, so each book I download to my Kindle Account automatically goes onto my profile as "currenly reading." I hadn't been on the site in a while, so I had over 150 books that hadn't been reviewed or moved to the "read" shelf! So I spent quite some time moving all of those "currently reading" books to the "read" shelves as well as rating each book via the star system. Drum roll please. . . . my current total is 209 books read! I know for sure th
